Introduction
After making my Protein Bar Tier List, I decided I wanted to take this one step further. Specifically, Quest Bars. What is the best tasting Quest Bar? Let's find out.

Quest makes a Quest Bar Variety Pack, a box of different Quest Bar flavors. Specifically, this box of 12 protein bars contains 10 flavors, with 2 duplicates. So let's see which one is the best!

Table of Contents

Protein Bars
Double Chocolate Chunk
Double Chocolate is basically just Chocolate Brownie with chocolate chips. I found it to be a bit better than Chocolate Brownie, but still not very good. It's the same base, but with the added benefit of chocolate chips.

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip
Oatmeal Chocolate Chip kinda is basically just a worse Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. It has a very similar base, mix-ins, flavor, and smell, but just worse in every way. Kinda like a real oatmeal chocolate chip cookie as compared to a regular chocolate chip cookie.

White Chocolate Raspberry
White Chocolate Raspberry is the one I was most excited for, since it seemed like the most unique flavor. Raspberries are my favorite fruit, and I'm weirdly a sucker for white chocolate. This wasn't too dense and chewy like some other bars, and the flavor was generally pretty good, but it did definitely have that artificial berry taste.

Chocolate Peanut Butter
Chocolate Peanut Butter is a classic combination, but how does the Quest Bar hold up? I'd say middle of the road. If you're a fan of the no stir / creamy peanut butter (aka Jif or Skippy), then you'll probably love this one. Because the peanut butter tastes like the fake peanut butter, and not the natural kind. If you're a peanut butter snob like me, and you only eat natural peanut butter (just nuts + salt), you probably won't be a fan. Even then, you can't go wrong with a peanut butter base filled with chocolate chips.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, the OG Quest Bar. Only one of two to be a duplicate in the variety pack, along with Cookies & Cream. It definitely holds up well, as it ranks in the top half, but I still got 4 more that I like more. If I were to try some random protein cookie dough recipe on Instagram, it would probably taste very similar to this. Nice sweet, neutral base with chocolate chips throughout. Still definitely a protein bar, but it's the first one on the list that I'd eat again for more than just convenient protein.

Cookies & Cream
Cookies & Cream is the fan favorite, and previously my favorite flavor. There's a reason why there 2 of these in the variety pack, along with Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. Although I'm not a fan of Oreo's in general, I am a sucker for Cookies & Cream, and this bar doesn't disappoint. The mix of the dark cookies and white cream throughout the creamy bar is definitely a hit for a reason, and it's my runner up for the podium.

S'mores
I gotta admit, I don't like S'mores, since I don't like marshmallows. I do like chocolate and graham crackers, but I was a bit skeptical of this one. They nailed the flavor and smell of s'mores, while taking away the worst part of s'mores: the gross marshmallow texture. S'mores takes my bronze medal.

Blueberry Muffin
I love me a good fruity dessert, but I've never been a blueberry muffin fan. But that changes with these protein bars. Unlike White Chocolate Raspberry, Blueberry Muffin tastes more like actual fruit and not an artificial fruit flavoring. And this doesn't just taste like blueberry; it tastes like blueberry muffin specifically. I feel like I can taste the strussel on top in addition to just the blueberry flavor. If you told me this was a candy bar flavored like a blueberry muffin, I'd believe you. Silver medal.

Mint Chocolate Chunk
The moment we've been waiting for. Mint Chocolate Chunk wins the gold. I'm one of those mint lovers, so if you're a mint hater then this would probably be at the bottom of your list. The Mint Chocolate Chunk reminds me of the Oreo Mint ice cream I used to get at Carvel as a kid. Cookies & Cream was already one of my favorite flavors. But add in some mint and additional chocolate? Then you get the unbeatable protein bar.

Chocolate Brownie
Starting at the bottom, this was my least favorite flavor. I found it to be very dry and lacking in flavor. It was also the only flavor to not have chocolate chips or any kind of mix in, so the entire bar was homogenous. It very much tasted like generic chocolate protein bar.

Final Ranking
  1. Chocolate Brownie
  2. Mint Chocolate Chunk
  3. Blueberry Muffin
  4. S'mores
  5. Cookies & Cream
  6. Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
  7. Chocolate Peanut Butter
  8. White Chocolate Raspberry
  9. Oatmeal Chocolate Chip
  10. Double Chocolate Chunk

Epilogue
In making this ranking, I took 1-2 bites of each Quest Bar to judge the flavors side by side. I probably ate the equivalent of 1 Quest Bar but was left with 10 partially eaten bars. You may be wondering: what did I do with all the remaining Quest Bars?

Food processor to the rescue! I added all the remaining protein bars to my food processor along with some other ingredients I had lying around my kitchen.
I blended everything until smooth, and then transferred to a parchment-lined, lightly greased 9" square pan. I then baked the protein brownies at 350F for about 60 minutes, or until the top and edges are set, and a toothpick came out nearly clean. I transferred the brownies to the fridge and let them cool for 1 hour before cutting into 16 squares.

Each of these 16 protein brownies contains 164 calories, with 16 g of protein and 11 g of fiber. They're gluten-free, sugar-free, and high-protein!
